These are the 3 famous cages on the tower of the ‘Lamberti’ church.

These cages go back to 1532, where the anabaptist movement was stopped by the roman catholic bishop. He put the three leaders to death by torture, and mounted their remains on the church tower as a warning to the population.

The cages are since a huge tourist attraction.
